About Me
Hi, I’m Prajwal Singh Khatri , a final-year Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics student at The British College, Kathmandu, affiliated with the University of the West of England (UWE), Bristol. I’ll be graduating in Fall 2026.
When I began my degree, my focus was cybersecurity. The early years of my studies were built around understanding computers from the ground up how operating systems work, how networks communicate, how software interacts with hardware, and where security fits into that picture. Those foundations helped me understand that securing systems first requires understanding how they are designed and operated.
As my degree progressed, I worked on a variety of individual and team projects that challenged me to solve practical problems beyond the classroom. One of the projects I enjoyed most was building an IoT-based carbon monoxide detection and alerting system. Although it wasn’t directly related to cybersecurity, it strengthened my problem-solving skills and gave me a solid foundation in C++, which continues to influence the way I approach technical challenges today.
My final-year project became the turning point in my journey. I designed and developed a Secure Email Gateway System, where I explored virtualization, Linux, and the deployment of multiple virtual machines to simulate enterprise email infrastructure. I also integrated a machine learning-based email filtering component into the gateway, giving me exposure to both infrastructure and intelligent security mechanisms.
Working on this project changed the direction of my career interests. I found myself spending more time understanding Linux, system administration, networking, and how large-scale infrastructure is built and maintained than I did writing application code. The command line, automation, and the engineering behind reliable systems became far more interesting to me than I had expected.
To further explore this path, I joined Adex International as an apprentice, where I completed the AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate (SAA-C03) training. During those two months, I gained practical exposure to AWS services and cloud architecture. More importantly, it confirmed that I wanted to build my career on the infrastructure side of technology rather than traditional software development.
Today, my primary interests are:
- Linux System Administration
- Cloud Infrastructure
- Docker & Kubernetes
- Networking
- DevOps Practices
- Infrastructure Automation
This website is where I document that journey. I’ll be writing about the projects I build, the challenges I encounter, and the lessons I learn while exploring Linux, cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, networking, and DevOps. My goal isn’t just to showcase projects—it’s to create a technical journal that reflects my continuous growth as an engineer.
Outside of technology, I believe consistency matters just as much as technical skills. I try to improve a little every day, whether that’s writing a new blog post, learning a new technology, or simply maintaining a healthy routine through daily walks and exercise.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you’ll find something useful here, whether it’s a project, a technical article, or an idea that helps you on your own learning journey.
